What do I mean by saying, "Keep it real with yourself and God?" Who do we think we're fooling? For so long I've witnessed strong spirits of condemnation, judgment, and self-righteousness and the lack of love amongst believers. No one person is better than the other person; No one sin is greater than the other sin; God doesn't love me more than you or you more than me; If I'm a doctor and you work in maintenance, he doesn't adore me more than you; If I wear makeup and pants, and you decide not to, he doesn't love me less; Some listen to a selection of secular music for example and act as they don't in public; We go to church now a day and dance in the sanctuary, but if one should find another dancing outside to a song not sung by a gospel artist, one might just judge him a sinner or hypocrite; Some don't get along with their own family, but will look at a prostitute and hold their nose in the air as if their better than she; Some gamble, lie, steal, and cheat; if not, battle it every day in their flesh to prevent from sinning; but will look at a person who slips in sin and judge them. WHO ARE WE REALLY? NOTHING, WITHOUT GOD! Our flesh will always battle against the spirit as God speaks on in Ephesians 6:10-18. So,. Let's keep it real!!!!!!

The first road to keepin' it real with God, is to understand that God loves you like a parent loves their children. Therefore, you don't have to be fake with your Father! He loves you and you owe it to yourself and him to keep it real. He is not on the throne waiting to whip you with a stick for every wrong thing that you do; He is loving and He adores you. So, LET'S KEEP IT REAL!!!!

Joyful Praise Dancers is a praise dance ministry of Christ's Church located in Waldorf, Maryland where Donald B. Curtis is the Pastor and Catherine B. Curtis is the First Lady.
Since the group's inception in 2002, they have used their bodies to praise and worship God through dance.
Under the watchful eye of their choreographer, Mrs. Felice Tate, they have been a great inspiration to young adults as they minister the Word of God through interpretive dance.

IT'S A RAP TEEN AND YOUNG ADULTS WORKSHOP

JOIN MOTHER & DAUGHTER - IT''S A RAP! -TEEN & YOUNG ADULT WORKSHOP

The authors are a mother-daughter team who share many of the same talents. They have shared many activities together including: piano lessons, art lessons, and now they share their love for creative writing together.

Amanda is a member of Joyful Praise Dancers, a liturgical dance ministry of Christ's Church in Waldorf, Maryland (under the direction of Mrs. Felice Tate, Choreographer); and is President of our church Youth Ministry. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys designing hair-braiding styles and creating her own fashions. Her future plans include dance, theatre and law.

Judy has been involved in youth ministry throughout her Christian walk. She has been married for 19 years to Michael L. Jackson and is the mother of two teens (Amanda 15 & Phillip 18), and has always enjoyed being involved in their lives, as well as in the lives of their friends and our relatives. She tries to use every opportunity to pour wisdom into their lives. She plans to continue using her gifts to edify others through writing books, theatrical productions, poetry, songs, as well as conducting empowerment workshops for youth and adults.

They both have drawn on their experiences, and the realization of the world in which we live for inspiration for their book It's a RAP! Rhythm And Poetry for Teens & Young Adults.
